A Chick Adrift

Chocolina was born as a yellow chocobo on a planet called Cocoon and purchased by Sazh Katzroy as a gift for his son. Yes, really. But she never found her way to grow up as Dajh's faithful steed because the world sort of ended. Twice.During that time, she made a prayer to the Goddess Etro, patron of humankind, to be given the power to grant people the kindnesses they needed. Etro answered her prayer, and transformed the chocobo into a human to carry out the task of aiding Etro's champions, the Farron Sisters, and was gifted agelessness and time magic to carry out this sacred mission.An enterprising little bird, Chocolina took a liking to the custom of trading shiny objects and saw no reason why, in service to her duties to her Goddess, she couldn't charge very reasonable rates to the Farrons for her goods and services.By the time her charges were delivered safely to a newly reborn Star, Chocolina had become a business queen. She was ready to travel with her companions, but needed to make sure her empire was secure. And so, lugging her possessions, Chocolina got lost in the void.First she washed up in a world called Grimoire and suffered a chocostential crisis. Who was she without Etro? Without Dajh? Without Lightning? Who was she in this strange land? Was she still Chocolina? Yes, but at the time she had conflicted feelings, so called herself "Chocolatte" and got glasses. It was A Phase.Her next stop was a world called Norvrandt. It reminded her of home, a world on the precipice of it's end. A dying land. With a concept of money. She spent nearly a century there, between hopping around time a little for fun and profit. Though one of these travels through the Void brought her to that world's neighbor, Hydaelyn.Eager to add multiple shards of the same Star to her now galactic-scale business empire, Chocolina set up shop in a city that shared her values, Ul'Dah, to make another fortune and use time travel irresponsibly.

Chocolina is incredibly gregarious. She's very quick to approach new people and try to sell them something. She's sure of herself, she's stocking basically anything, and she's here to share it with everyone she meets. As such, sample hooks include:

OOC Note on Lore

"Okay, that can't be lore-friendly," I hear you saying. I feel compelled to make the counterargument.From an XIV perspective, we know that the multiverse isn't just traversable, it's downright easy to wander. Noctis, Shantotto, even Lightning have all visited Eorzea canonically, and Ultima the High Seraph is the same entity as her XII counterpart, explaining Ivalice's influence on our Star.And from Chocolina's perspective, Chocolatte was the only character from another game to seem to possess all her memories in World of Final Fantasy. This was central to her name and appearance change, in fact.Since there is precedent both in Chocolina's worldline and XIV lore to establish this as possible, I conclude that having her appear in Eorzea is lore-compliant. As is her time magic -- as we saw with Noctis, Travelers from other Stars carry with them their special magics and abilities.If you don't like it, that's fine. Not everyone needs to interact with everyone. And playing Chocolina is theoretically akin to playing Aymeric, and not everyone wants that kind of thing in their RP. But don't whine "but the lore" at me when this is all very permitted.

A Bird's Business Empire

Chocolina's enterprises on Eorzea come in a wide variety of forms, with her primary corporation, Chocolina's Emporium, having dozens of subsidiaries focused on different areas of expertise. Each has a full staff, and is overseen directly by Chocolina herself.

One of her great joys, CHOCO PRIDE is her brand of queer pride products and memorabilia. Working with Feo closely, Chocolina brings rainbows, sunshine, and infinate love to the peoples of the omniverse, and to Hydaelyn in particular.CHOCO PRIDE carries a wide array of products to it's lineup. From your standard flags, outfits, capes, cloaks, and so on to literal rainbows courtesy of Feo, and everything in between. This includes plushies of CHOCO PRIDE mascot Rainbocobo and the lovely queer romance novels by Maxe Sahashin.A portion of all CHOCO PRIDE sales supports the Anthroparion Program of Atelier Iris, which uses Allagan technology to help couples who can't naturally reproduce have children. CHOCO PRIDE helps pay for the costs of this service so queer couples can take advantage of it free.

Curant de Chocobo (or March of the Chocobo) is an elite chocobo breeding firm operated in an area of Chocobo Forest that Chocolina has named "Chocobo's Wain" and produces some of the most sought-after birds.Established and operated during the early days of the Sixth Astral Era in a remote quarter of the Chocobo Forest, Curant de Chocobo has long been an asset of the Chocolina business empire... somehow. Curant specializes in unusual birds, particularly those of Ivalician descent, but bred for hundreds of years in Eorzea. From their variants on Meteor Chocobos (they call them Rambunctious Reds) to their attempt to emulate a rare legendary bird in their Valhallan Whites, the birds raised by Curant focus more on unique personalities and bold birds for companions, pets and dressage than on war birds or professional racers. That said, for a racer in tune with a strong personality the Curant birds make for impressive and unusual steeds.

An acquisition the Emporium made in recent years. Originally founded by Ishgardian noble scion Elodie Truffault in partnership with the Manderville Gold Saucer, Sunset Destinations was designed both to provide a hostel for those visiting the Gold Saucer, and exciting vacation packages for those interested in exotic holidays.Chocolina bought out Godbert's stake in the company and brought it under the Chocolina's Emporium umbrella, which let Sunset explore some more unusual partnerships. Including working with a mad scientist to create something called an Intershard Resonator, capible of connecting fragments of Hydaelyn through an artificial aetheryte.Sunset is now housed within the Emporium's Goblet headquarters, and remains managed by Truffault. Chocolina and Feo help ensure the proper operation of the Resonator, as well as provide private airship flights to customers.

The parent business of Chocolina's entire mercentile empire on Hydaelyn, Chocolina's Emporium is the primary point of sale for the things produced by its subsidiaries. The Emporium has it's headquarters in the Goblet, where Chocolina maintains her office, ~~vault~~ residence, and a lounge for guests as well as entertainments and a shop.The Emporium is also the vehicle of many of Chocolina's philanthropic efforts, as well as her occasional time meddling. While many of the projects the Emporium oversees are allowed to operate semi-autonomously, Chocolina keeps a firm beak on the Emporium's day-to-day management.It isn't uncommon to see the Emporium working vendor duty at a street fair or a festival, and when it is Chocolina herself is usually there, abusing time magic to rotate inventory or special-order items from her future self.
